Who am I?
I was born on the 3rd of September 1992 in Gallarate, a city that lies between Milan and the Italian-Swiss border. As far as I remember, I have always dreamed about being somewhere else, escaping from daily life and dreaming about traveling to other lands and worlds. It does not then come as a surprise that most of my childhood memories are linked to books and libraries.
To make the first big move, I had to wait university but then I had the chance to go living alone for some months in Valencia, Spain, for my Erasmus. Here I picked my interest in languages as well, and, strangely enough, Korea. But that is another story! And, as they say, when you start, you cannot stop. So, here I was, three years later I moved to New Orleans, US, for nine months, for another university exchange. Every moment, I was more and more convinced I needed to explore, living in other countries and see what I could find moving away from home. Maybe that is why I ended up in Switzerland by chance, and maybe this is not my final stop either.
But is it traveling the only thing that fulfils my life? Of course not! You can find me easily spending all my free time crocheting and knitting, always accumulating more patterns I want to try than time to actually make them. And in between, I am for sure explaining to someone why Star Wars is so great but always underlining the fact that, all in all, I am not such a fanatic. I will be also sending postcards like people ‘used to’ because getting post makes me happy as a child on Christmas day and I will keep collecting everything I can.
Describing who we are cannot be summed up in few lines and this is just a bit of me, but I liked the way a friend of mine introduced me when I joined the Toastmaster Club (oh yes, this is another adventure!): “We are welcoming Marina into Toastmaster! Knitting queen, cat adorer, fantasy fan, addicted traveler. We have a lot to learn and share with her”. Well, all considered, I think that’s pretty accurate!

- I like to crochet, knitting, and sewing in my free time. Here you can see some of my works.
- I love cats and I grew up with a grey one, Doremi. In 2023, I adopted a new one, Momo.
