One of my dreams has always been to see the Northern Lights. Now, I am not a big fan of cold but I told myself that spending New Year's Eve in Lapland was worth the trip. And indeed it was. I coordinated a group of 15 people, among them also one of my best friends. We flew to Helsinki first, to get a brief introduction of Finland, and then to Ivalo, in Finnish Lapland. We enjoyed all the typical activities such as the husky sledge (spoiler: I fell miserably), the reindeer farm, the night snowshoeing but, more than that, we were lucky enough to see the Lights twice. It is impossible to describe the emotion of seeing such an incredible wonder and I came back still in awe for the memorable experience.
