Panama was not one of the destinations I had in mind for the near future but my company EF decided to organize the year kick off in this peculiar Central American state. Many motivations were behind this choice but here we were. Although very small and known just for its Canal, Panama is for sure an interesting place to visit. Beside the Canal there are many things to do. First of all, the Casco Viejo is well preserved. Then, a cruise on the Gatún Lake is perfect to see the cargo ships closer and learn a bit more about the construction of the Canal while watching the many monkeys populating the small islands. Finally, a visit to the Gamboa Sanctuary is paradise if you like sloths. It was just three days for business but Panama is one of the best discovery of 2019.
